Monthly Meetings

Our meetings are usually held on the third Monday of the month, from 3:00 – 4:30 pm in the Quadra Community Centre, Room 3, September through April. We meet in-person whenever possible and provide a Zoom link to those not able to attend in person. If you are not already on the email list and would like to receive the Zoom link, please request your address be added using the Contact section of this website. Everyone is welcome.

The meetings consist of about a ½ hour for sharing about death, dying and grief, and the next hour for a presentation to learn more about a particular death-related topic, followed by a question and answer period and discussion.

A Walk in the Memorial Park – May 30, 2026

The Quadra Island Cemetery Society and Way To Go are collaborating on a special upcoming event – A Walk in the Memorial Park on May 30, 2026 from 2 – 4. Everyone is invited to gather at our community cemetery to learn more about it, enjoy it, and celebrate the unveiling of the Natural Burial Memorial.

On each natural burial grave family and friends can place a biodegradable marker. Eventually, as the trees grow and memories fade, these will be incorporated into the landscape. The Natural Burial Memorial pole provides a permanent place for all buried in the natural burial area to be commemorated.
