Way to Go Meeting Minutes, Oct 23, 2023
Fourteen people attended the meeting in person, and four using Zoom. Betsy Young chaired.
After a time of sharing, Kathleen Monahan introduced us to Nav-CARE, a free volunteer navigation program offered through Quadra Circle. Nav-CARE supports people with declining health to live as well and independently at home for as long as possible. Specially trained volunteer navigators help clients access resources and services in their community, while providing companionship and emotional support.
Kathleen can be reached by telephone at (250) 285-2255 or 778-874-8187, and by email at NavCAREquadracircle@gmail.com.
Business Items:
Vic Gladish, a QICS board member, asked for community input in proposing a design for memorial structure to commemorate those buried in the natural burial area. Those who would like to help email quadrawaytogo@gmail.com.
Maureen McDowell emailed: Quadra Circle has some grant funding for caregivers who need respite between now and December 15, 2023. If you know of any caregivers who need to take some time for themselves, have them get in touch with Maureen at (250) 285-2221. Two fully-trained careworkers are willing to do respite daytime/evenings or overnights. The caregiver can make arrangements directly with the careworkers, and Quadra Circle will be invoiced for their time.
A reminder of Death Ed Fair on Nov 5th, and a request for someone to video the presentation at the next Way To Go meeting on Nov 27th.
